Haydock Park Bead Fair

It was the Haydock Park bead fair today, and I got to go as a shopper this year!!

Because it is dangerous for me to be let loose at a bead fair, I literally ran in bought what I "needed", chatted to a few friends and left again!! I was only there about an hour!

So, here are my essential purchases

This is a Titanium Drusy Cabochon, and I love it!! It's a really pretty bronze colour and very reflective as you can see!!  Lots of pink hues in it too.

I may be slightly addicted to these!

Now this one is really girly and thats unlike me!  Bright Pink - it must be summer.

These will be made into jewellery soon - I'm hoping one of them will fit into a Masters Registry project I have in mind, so you won't see that one for a while!

Of course, I couldn't pay a visit to a bead fair without hunting down some lampwork!  There were less lampworkers there this year which I thought was surprising, but I still bought a corker of a bead

Its a devil to photograph, but its a beautiful transparent purple with gold fuming.  I absolutely adore it.

A week to go...

....until Beads up North.

This is the second time I've exhibited here, and I learnt a lot from my last experience. The main area of improvement has been packaging - I've worked hard to create new display/information cards that will be on the table.

Also, deciding that the components will become part of my range of items has helped me to totally focus and I've been busy at the studio, creating what I think is starting to become a range rather than just a select few pieces.

I am pleased with progress so far, and I think the kiln will be working hard this week to get everything ready in time!

Don't forget if you're near to Haydock Park on the 2nd August, pop along and say hi. Here's the website -

Beads up North, Haydock Park

Oh boy! What have I done. I've booked a last minute place at the Beads up North bead fair at Haydock Park Racecourse. As usual I've given myself lots of preparation time, it's on Sunday 3rd May! So I've got all of 10 days to try and pull everything together.

So if my blogging is sporadic you know why!!

Whilst I am slightly terrified, I'm also looking forward to meeting some friends who are also selling at the show. Some I've met in real life before and some I haven't.

So if any of you are planning to go along, please come and find me and say Hi!
