Frit Happens Challenge Piece

Well, I managed to finally get this piece finished. It's not the best photograph, but I'm so pleased with the finished piece, I couldn't wait to show it!! The challenge topic was Autumn. I also thought it would be interesting to take stage by stage photos so, here's a few of the piece in progress

This pendant is totally different to what I usually make, but I quite enjoyed if for a change, and that's what challenges are about isn't it!! What it did do for me, is make me realise how much I like enamelling work. I don't do it as often as I would like and having a play yesterday was great fun.
Must get on with "proper" jobs today though!

I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas, I did! It was also my birthday on the 27th, so this time of year is always a bit hectic for me! I'm thinking of changing my birthday to the 27th June, to break the year up a bit!!

I feel like I've wasted a lot of time the last few weeks with being ill, so now I'm raring to go! I've got quite a lot of work to do on setting up Tiny Charms. The boring stuff really! So I'm trying to get my ideas down in a sort of business plan. I find it easier to deal with if it's all written down. The trouble is I just want to get on with making the sample pieces!!

I've also got lots of ideas rattling around in my head for jewellery for my Fired Silver shop - there just aren't enough hours in the day.

I need to switch my kiln on later to fire some pieces, so I'm going to try and do some enamelling at the same time. I've had my piece for the Frit Happens challenge sat on my desk for weeks!

I've just been catching up with the comments left on my blog while I've been poorly, and the lovely Elaine has given me a blog award. You can check out her blog here http://chatelainejewellery.blogspot.com/ Thanks Elaine, I really appreciate the award.
By accepting the award, I need to follow a few rules and here they are:

  5. Leave a message to those nominees on their blog

I'll edit the post again later with who I'm going to nominate!

OK, so it took me longer to come back than I thought!! Here's the people I'm nominating:

Remeber Me!!

Gosh, I can't believe the date of my last post! My household has been hit by a horrid flu-like bug for the last couple of weeks and my little girl was even in hospital for a couple of nights. I've been feeling so ill I just haven't felt like doing anything - I must've been ill to have not made jewellery! We're all feeling much better now, although we still have coughs and colds. I haven't put my decorations up at home, or finished my Christmas shopping.

I am determined to spend some time being creative over the next couple of weeks, so hopefully there'll be a lot of pictures to show you. I'm on holiday from my day job until the schools go back, so I've got no excuses.

I've registered my Tiny Charms store on Folksy, and want to make sure that all my sample pieces are finished soon so that I can get some lovely photos taken. Although I'll need to speak to hubby nicely to get the photos done! I'm really excited about getting Tiny Charms going properly, it's just a shame I couldn't get everything ready in time for Christmas, but at least I should be there, ready for 2009!
